First Summer Sunday

Yesterday was the first Sunday of Summer. It didnt’ dissapoint. I almost passed on getting out for a beach walk. I’m glad I went!

It was a pleasant surprise to see Jericho Pier reopened! Last I had heard the city was considering demolishing it after the storm damage a few years back. A quick search revealled that the city decided to repair it and that insurance covered much of the cost. Apparently “this repair is a temporary, stopgap solution; the structure remains vulnerable to future storm events”. The pier seems such an integral part of Jericho beach, I hope they come up with a sustainment plan.
