I usually don’t pay a lot of attention to my own birthday, I’m not particularly fond of parties or big celebrations. I feel the same way about milestone birthdays. This year’s trip around the sun has hit differently for me however. 60 seems like a big number, the dreaded word senior” starts to creep into conversations. This is also the first year without a surviving parent to thank and reminisce with. I miss Dad & Mom terribly and their absense is a reminder of my own mortality. On the other hand I’m incredibly grateful for everything I have recieved and my incredible luck in this life. Today’s agenda, a sauna, a walk on the beach, a pint & a burger and time with family are perfect celebrations of this milestone.
