Getaway Cut Short

Christine and I booked this past week off for some much-needed downtime. We decided that rather than get on a plane we would take advantage of the extended summer weather and stay local. We took the ferry to Victoria where we had a quick visit with our eldest daughter and delivered some university supplies. After a short visit we headed up-island to a spa resort in the Courtney/Comox area. The weather and scenery did not disappoint. I wish I could say the same for my body. I came down with some stomach bug that required that I be near the facilities” at all times. We stuck it out for a few days but came home early and decided to try again another time. Here are a few photos before the malady had taken hold.
